  28. What's happening is that pine is sending the "Start Printing on
  29. Attached Printer" command, your mail, then the "Stop Printing on
  30. Attached Printer" command.  These commands are defined to the terminal
  31. or emulator.  MS-Kermit includes terminal emulation, whereas C-Kermit
  32. does not--it depends on the terminal support of either the Linux
  33. console device, or your Xterm, or whatever you are using for your
  34. Linux login session.

  36. For example, I could use a real terminal connected to a serial port
  37. (modem or direct connect) to my Linux box, dial from there into a
  38. site, say my Sun at work, and ask pine to print my mail.  C-Kermit
  39. would pass the printing commands transparently and my mail would print
  40. on the printer attached to my terminal, not the printer attached to my
  41. Linux box.  This is how it's supposed to work; I know it's not what you're
  42. asking for.

  44. I looked though the C-Kermit book [Using C-Kermit by Frank da Cruz and
  45. Christine M. Gianone, Digital Press, ISBN 1-55558-108-0], and I didn't
  46. find anything much more than that.  The only thing I can think of off
  47. the top of my head is saving the mail to a file, downloading it, and
  48. printing it, or turning on the session log, telling pine to print it,
  49. turning off the session log, editing the log, etc.  None of these
  50. strike me as particularly nice.  I've added comp.protocols.kermit.misc
  51. to the newsgroup line, so more knowledgeable parties can help out.
